Welcome to our annual Health Care Heroes. For over 10 years, Crain's Detroit Business has recognized Health Care Heroes — leaders in the field who have gone above and beyond to improve care, make a difference and save lives.

We’re looking for your stories about Health Care Heroes who have made significant contributions to their fields and communities, improved the lives of their patients and changed the health care system for the better. Winners will be featured in a June 24 special section of Crain's Detroit Business. 

The deadline to nominate a candidate for this award program is March 26 at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Categories for recognition: 

• Corporate Achievement Hero: Individuals who significantly contributed to the growth of their health care organizations and positively impacted the industry and their communities 
• Administrator Hero: Executive-level leaders who developed creative health care programs, processes or plans that improved employee and patient experiences 
• Physician Hero: Doctors with proven track records as clinicians who use novel techniques to improve quality of care
• Allied Health Hero: Nurses and other allied health workers with records of exemplary and innovative work
• Advancements in Care Hero: Individuals or organizations that have discovered or developed groundbreaking procedures, devices, programs or services that save lives and improve quality of life

How to nominate: 

• To get started, click the application link and sign into your account. If you do not have an account, you will be asked to create one before you can proceed with the nomination form. We recommend using Chrome or Firefox web browsers to complete your application. 
• To submit someone for consideration, there is a nomination fee of $25, which must be paid before the nomination can be formally submitted. The fee ensures your nominee will be considered by judges. It does not ensure your nominee will be selected.

Honoree notification: Health Care Heroes will be notified by phone or email approximately 5 weeks before publication day. Please note that we do not notify all applicants, only those we have selected as honorees.
